NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness) is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of persons living with serious mental illness and their families. Founded in 1979, NAMI has become the nation's voice on mental illness, a national organization including NAMI organizations in every state and in over 1100 local communities across the country who join together to meet the NAMI mission through advocacy, research, support, and education.
NAMI of Kalamazoo, MI - is a non-profit self-help and advocacy group. We serve Kalamazoo and the surrounding counties including Calhoun, Allegan, St. Joe, and Cass.
What Do We Do at NAMI-Kalamazoo?
NAMI members provide support, education, and advocacy for consumers, their friends, and their families during all phases of their mental illness journey.
NAMI of Kalamazoo now holds 1 meeting each month for members, friends and advocates to attend. This is the Board meeting, which is held on the first Thursday of most every month. All meetings listed are held at Pathways located at 119 West Vine St. (map).
The meetings start at 6:30 pm.

Dear NAMI Board, members, family, friends, and peers, you are welcome to attend this year’s NAMI of Kalamazoo picnic, which will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the Milham Park Pavilion near the corner of Kilgore and Lovers Lane streets in Kalamazoo, MI. The picnic begins just after 5PM and usually lasts till about 7:30 PM.
NAMI will furnish brats, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, drinks, and some salads.
For friends and family- please bring a dish-to-pass for 6 people. There is NO charge for this event. Peers- please RSVP to the Recovery Institute at 343-6725 so we can have an accurate count of who might attend.
